From my art perspective, I also create interior concepts. For the STATE project in Amsterdam, I was asked by top interior designer Mariska Jagt. To develop an art piece for the Penthouse entrance of the STATE building.
The design is based on an art piece I developed based on staples. The Staple table is 210cm in diameter and made from steel with a brass finish. And will be topped by a thick bronze glass table top.
STAPLE is inspired by the grand tables you find in high-end luxury hotel lobbies. It will give that feeling of grandeur to the penthouse entrance of the STATE building.
In this interior design project my Art and interior design ideas came together as one. It was amazing when the client asked me to design a kitchen for them in collaboration with Ben Braber interiors.
Now I could integrate my idea on material use, interior design and art together and show how they can really intergrate. We used amazing materials like Hi- Macs and wood and created lots of light by extending the exterior facade and installing skylights . This to create an open and user friendly light kitchen.
